Video Sample

This video is very indicative of the majority of shoots I have been doing lately. I shot this one for the NACD Capital Area Chapter Program, at the Baltimore Country Club. It is a dual camera setup. One is a stationary wide shot and the other was used to follow closer into the action on stage, then edited together in Adobe Premiere and After Effects.

Aerial Video

This is a compilation of aerial video I have taken over the past year. It showcases my tool of choice; the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and various footage taken with it. Enjoy.

A hybrid event

This is a still from a hybrid event I shot recently. Like many events lately, this one had a good amount of in-person participants, but it also had another 100+ participants viewing and interacting online. I recorded the event on two cameras, and I provided the feed for online participants as well.

Over the past year or so, this has become a very common scenario, and I have become well versed.

F.A.Q.

What would you like to know?

I’ll just say that I grew up working with film cameras; loading film into canisters and developing prints in the dark room. As much as I love and respect film as an art form, I am so glad digital is here! It was too easy to lose everything with film. Digital has made the workflow of photography so much more efficient!

Most of my work involves recording events, seminars, lectures and interviews. I shoot a Sony PXW-Z150 for this type of work. I almost always employ an Atomos Ninja display as a backup capture source and as a passthrough to a video capture card. That is because most shoots I am involved in are not only recorded but live streamed as well.

A remote pilot’s license is required by the FAA to do any type of commercial work with a drone. This is something that the United States government takes very seriously. An extensive knowledge test is required.

I do have this certification, and am licensed to fly drones commercially. I am required to sit through the exam every two years to maintain this license.

I began using Adobe’s Creative Suite with CS2 back in 2006. I use Premiere and After Effects very often, so I am very well versed in it. I generally run the programs on Windows, but I am also comfortable in the Mac OS environment.
